SPRING GETTYSBURG TOUR – 2018
The Bucktails at McPherson’s Ridge
Mark your calendars!
Our Spring Gettysburg Tour this year will take place on Saturday, May 12, 2018, with Gettysburg Licensed
Battlefield Guide extraordinaire Richard Kohr, in Gettysburg. The tour starts at 10 AM sharp and will go for
about 4 hours.
We will meet Rich at the parking lot (West End Guide Station / Restroom) across from Buford’s Statue
along the Chambersburg Pike (Route 30) half a mile west of town. Please use the gravel parking lot behind
Rich will concentrate his talk on the activities surrounding McPherson’s Ridge and Farm during the first day
of the battle, with an emphasis on the actions of the Second Brigade of the Third Division of the First Army
Corps consisting of the 143rd, 149th, and 150th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiments.
As you may recall, we originally had this tour scheduled for October of 2011, but the winter weather was so
severe that the event was curtailed. So this year’s spring tour will be The Bucktails Redux!
Though transportation, meals, and accommodations are on your own, the tour itself is being paid for by the
Colonel Henry Ryerson Civil War Round Table. Bringing water and a snack is suggested. So just get there
and enjoy this fun filled spring day with your Civil War enthusiast friends from the Round Table!
